Plot Summary

Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) is a troubled teenager with a passion for street racing. After being involved in illegal races in the United States, Sean is sent to live with his father in Tokyo, Japan, to avoid jail time. There, he discovers a new racing culture built around the art of drifting — a skillful style of driving that involves controlled skidding through tight turns.

Sean befriends Twinkie (Bow Wow), who introduces him to the underground drifting scene. However, Sean quickly finds himself in trouble when he challenges Takashi (Brian Tee), also known as "DK" (Drift King), who has ties to the Yakuza.

To redeem himself, Sean learns the art of drifting under the guidance of Han (Sung Kang), a mysterious yet kind mentor. As Sean improves, he must confront Takashi in a final high-stakes race to settle their rivalry and prove himself in the world of drifting.
